Elimination of Designated Assessment Centres (DACs)
The Liberal government passed legislation eliminating Designated Assessment Centres (DAC's). Regulation effective March 1, 2006. The new Regulation will eliminate DAC's and replace them with Insurer Examinations conducted by health care practitioners selected specifically by the insurer to resist the recommendations made by an injured person's treating health care professional for benefits. Unfortunately, changes will dramatically enhance the ability of the insurance industry to deny claims by injured people.

Catastrophically-injured client inspires many
Allison, a McMaster Children's Hospital Champion, was the Special Guest Speaker at "Our Year to Celebrate" fundraiser. Many staff and friends of the McMaster Children's Hospital of Hamilton attended the gala event. Allison's hard work in writing and preparing for the speech paid off - she did an excellent job and inspired her audience. We have included Allison's speech here on the web site and know that as you read it, it will touch you as it has touched many others.
