Creating art is one of the richest forms of self-expression that anyone can enjoy in the human experience. In Ontario, the province abounds with fine artists who generate innovative and imaginative works. On Wednesday evening of November 2, 2016, Spinal Cord Injury Ontario presents Shades of Disability, an Art Exhibition which will be held at Toronto Botanical Gardens; showcasing the fruits of creative labours by Ontario artists living with disabilities.

The event is being organized by Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCIO), a leading organization in the spinal cord injury field.
The exhibit takes place at the Toronto Botanical Gardens, inside Edwards Gardens, at the corner of Leslie Street and Lawrence Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy hors d'oeuvres and beverages from a cash bar as they wander freely among the diversity of visual artwork on display.
Submissions by independent artists, both amateur and professional, have already been made, and Wednesday night will be show time. The artists will showcase original works including paintings in oil, watercolour, and acrylic along with drawings, photography, and works of mixed media. Guests will have up until 7:30 p.m. to vote on their favourite pieces. Judges will present awards and monetary prizes in each category and an overall best piece at 8:00 p.m.
The works will be on sale and art enthusiasts can support and promote the spirit of entrepreneurialism among the artists by purchasing the works for private enjoyment.
