“you have been true to your word”

Dear Mr. Gluckstein,

By the time you get this letter it will be almost exactly three years since we first met. At that time my wife and I and most of our children were operating in a fog of despair and pain as our oldest son had been cruelly assaulted and was lying unconscious in a hospital bed with limited hope of recovery due to a severe brain injury.

When you heard our story, you graciously offered to assist us wade through a nightmare of legal paper work as we would try to recover some of the costs of having a potentially handicapped son. You have been true to your word and have helped us (with your staff’s assistance — specifically Angela Comella to whom we owe a great thank you as well) — collect money where we could, as we dealt with the insurance companies. Because of this, we have been able to pay the extra medical costs, the travel costs and the therapy sessions which Joe still attends.

Over the last three years, Joe has improved beyond anything that even the medical staff expected and you have been a witness to this, and a helper in this, as we did not have to worry about the legal procedures required to collect much needed funds.

A letter like this is so inadequate but we must say THANK YOU!! Your help and your staff’s help and encouragement have helped us through a very difficult time.

Today, almost three years later, we rejoice at how far we all have come. Joe has gone back to work in limited capacity — but he is doing well at what he does. He may never be able to go back to his profession of choice, as a millwright, but by the grace of God he is able to work and pay his own bills as he again is able to live alone in his own home. He has some physical limitations and a short term memory liability, but he copes very well.

You have been a contributor and a part of this miracle. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
