Another stated:”I felt accepted and valued as a TBI survivor, bonding with the others in a way I had never thought possible.”
The conference will run from Tuesday to Thursday at the University of Toronto’s Chesnut Conference Centre, located just east of Yonge and Dundas. It’s an opportunity to unite for three days of learning, innovation, inspiration and sharing.
An Exciting Program Anticipated
Audiences will be treated to a special presentation by Norman Doidge, Canadian-born psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and acclaimed author of The New York Times’ bestseller The Brain That Changes Itself. His groundbreaking book revealed insights into the brain’s extraordinary neuro-plastic ability to rewire itself, even after a traumatic injury. His talk promises to be no less exciting.
Charles Gluckstein will be speaking on Thursday, September 29, 2016, in the Colony Ballroom East from 11:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Charles will present “Personal Injury Law in 2020: What You Need to Know in The Future.” Excerpt from his presentation:
As we move from the information age to artificial intelligence we encounter increased distractions and new demands from technology in our lives. The area of transportation is nearing the greatest challenges and changes since the advent of the combustible engine. From today and into the future technology companies are aiming to take human error out of transportation. The effect on accidents, insurance, healthcare, and other industries will be profound. Are you ready for the future?
Other speakers will reveal information about the latest technological developments, new research on care and rehabilitation, and the moving life stories of brain-injury survivors. The conference’s first ever half-day gender symposium will also examine biological, psychological, and social concerns related to the very different outcomes experienced by female brain-injury patients.
