02 Aug Gluckstein Hosted “Risky Business” Medical Malpractice Conference 2019
Gluckstein Lawyers is excited to host a medical malpractice conference this Fall. The conference will feature presentations from specialists in the field and is designed to educate lawyers, law clerks, healthcare professionals and others who wish to learn about the complexities and challenges of medical negligence litigation.
Risky Business: The Anatomy of Medical Malpractice will be held on Friday, October 18th, 2019 at the Ajax Conference Center.
Topics of discussion will include obstetrical, neonatal, stroke, gastrointestinal and orthopedic cases, as well as hospital guidelines, and surgical errors. In addition to presentations on standard of care, there will also be a presentation on the state of the law on the complex issue of causation in medical negligence actions.
Our lineup of engaging speakers will provide attendees with a range of insights about this specialized area of practice from both a plaintiff and defence perspective.
In addition to a full day focused on medical legal matters, we are honoured to have Dr. Ted Brankston, physician and musician, as one of our presenters. Dr. Brankston will lead us on a path to mindfulness, with tools to help bring a sense of calm and perspective into our daily lives and practices.
The afternoon will be spent discussing ways to manage medical negligence files and utilize technology in the case management of these files. It is important to stay at the forefront of technology to provide clients with the most efficient and progressive means of resolving their cases.
Charles Gluckstein is leading the Gluckstein firm in innovation and is known among his peers for his forward-thinking mindset in providing better and quicker solutions for our clients through the use of technology whenever possible. Jan Marin will discuss how the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) has added a new dimension to the practice of medical malpractice law.
For the lawyers attending our event, this one-day seminar is CPD-accredited. More information will follow in the coming weeks.
To round out the day, there will be a networking opportunity from 4 PM – 5 PM, with the goal of continuing discussions and interactions with old friends and new connections. The room will be filled with a wealth of experience and knowledge, and we hope our attendees will take this opportunity to engage with and learn from each other.
