Hamilton Health Sciences celebrated their 20th year of hosting the Acquired Brain Injury Conference. Bernie Gluckstein, Dianne Henderson and Dianne Radunsky can remember the earlier days with presenters like Dr. Rodger Woods and Dr. John Freeland and with conference committee members like Stella Bester and Patti Leonard. They took the time to reminisce with friends and colleagues about the good ole' days at this year's conference.
The Hamilton Conference (as it is known) was always identified as the "networking" conference. The 2013 conference held their traditional role. The event always presents opportunities to forge new friendships and renew old. After a warm welcome by John Zsofcsin Thursday morning, the conference offered presenters under theme of "Innovative Strategies for Issues Complicating Brain Injury".
Presenters included Dr. David Graham and Dr. Harvey Jacobs. Dr. Jacobs always offers delegates a new perspective on the language that is often used in the brain injury field. Following Thursday's sessions, all delegates and sponsors were invited to the Cocktail Reception with entertainment provided by Sandara Sanmartin, Gary Blake and Mike Mosher. And following the reception there was yet another happening at the Honest Lawyer hosted by Henderson Structured Settlements.
After the networking experience on Thursday night, there were a few delegates that did not wake in time to enjoy the hot breakfast. Thank goodness that many of the delegates that arrived later chose to participate in casual Friday with a donation of $5.00. The proceeds from Casual Friday supports the HHS Resource Centre and Camp Dawn. Many thanks to the Scientific and the Conference Planning Committee for planning and hosting a great conference.
