The Eleventh World Congress on Brain Injury, "From Cell to Society": an incredible and informative conference held in The Netherlands.

Gluckstein Lawyers' medical consultant, Dianne Henderson attended the biennial Congress. It is the principal activity of the International Brain Injury Association (IBIA), and is unique in its international focus on transdisciplinary advances in the science, clinical aspects, and public policy issues of traumatic and other acquired brain injuries (ABI).
The conference aimed to inspire researchers, clinicians and policymakers with ground breaking ideas, insights and prospects meant to reduce the immense burden ABI infers on individuals, their caregivers and Society as a whole. The scientific program offered keynote and plenary addresses by luminaries in the field. Congress participants had opportunities to present their work and to learn about advances made by others in the science of brain injury and the care of persons and families affected by brain injuries. The Congress also provided an outstanding and unparalleled forum for networking and socialization with like-minded colleagues from around the world.

The Canadian Contingent
The Canadian contingent provided an extremely strong presence at the Congress. Dr. Gabriela Ilie, Dr. Peter Rumney, Dr. Mark Bayley, Dr. Nora Cullen, Dr. Dawn Good, Dr. Julie Baker, Sheila MacDonald, Leslie Birkitt, and Deidre Sperry ( to mention a few), shared their expertise and provided evidence that will likely change the way rehabilitation is delivered in the future.
The Hague is one of the most extraordinary cities in Holland because of its many monuments, historic districts and its location near the beautiful North Sea coastline with Scheveningen as its best known seaside resort on the Dutch coast. The event Gala was hosted by the Louwman Museum boasting the world's oldest private collection of historic cars, coaches, and motorcycles.
