What is the Omnipod Recall About?
Insulet Corporation, the manufacturer of the Omnipod insulin pump system, issued a series of voluntary and urgent recalls in 2026 after discovering a manufacturing defect in certain Omnipod devices.
A voluntary recall means the company acted on its own to correct the problem, while "urgent" signals that users should respond right away. The defect can compromise the insulin fluid path, the channel that carries insulin into your body, leading to reduced or interrupted delivery.
Because this failure often happens quietly, you may not notice anything is wrong until your blood sugar starts to climb. That can cause dangerously high blood sugar and, in serious cases, life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
